Samsung’s Galaxy View Scheduled to Launch On 6 Nov in USA
Samsung’s humongous Galaxy View tablet will launch in the United States on Nov. 6 and will cost $599.99. The Galaxy View was officially unveiled by Samsung on Wednesday, though the company had still kept the pricing and release date close to the vest. It will be sold in Best Buy and other major retailers.
The Galaxy View is an Android tablet with a massive 18.4-inch display and its own carrying handle, and it’s going to take us some time to figure out how it fits in our lives.
Samsung says it’s trying to create a new product category with the View. It’s meant to serve as a device that can be carried from room to room, taken on trips and shared by the family, all while offering mainly what a tablet can already do —but with the focus on video consumption, multitouch gaming and more.
It’s not meant to be a productivity device, that much is clear, but do we really need an 18.4 inch portable TV/tablet hybrid that costs $600? Remember that 32-inch TVs these days can be purchased for nearly half that price.
That’s what we’ll be trying to answer in our review in the coming days.
