Instant messaging app n-gage yesterday launched its service in India to allow users to share content with competing platforms like WhatsApp and Viber, a move aimed at tapping into the mobile Internet userbase in India. It's the first messaging app that breaks any platform barrier, users can share content with any instant messaging app be it WhatsApp, Viber or Facebook messenger. It is developed by Ajit Patel who is an Indian.
Based on reviews, WhatsApp covers the listing of instant messaging (IM) applications in India and then Hike and Messenger. Asia is the reason an enormous amount of its about one billion worldwide user base.
It allows users to send encrypted messages to others with password protected or timed, delete messages after they are sent as well as disable others from taking screenshots of conversations.
Developing the app has been a two year journey. The platform ensures security and privacy of users through the various features and at the same time, availability of the desktop version ensures that those who dont have smartphones can use the platform," n-gage founder and CEO Ajit Patel told PTI. He, however, declined to comment on the total number of users using n gage.
