FIFA 17 Story Mode : "The Journey" :
Football fans have always looked forward to the launch of the latest FIFA instalment, in September every year. But the anticipation went off the charts this year, as EA Sports debuted a trailer detailing a new mode - The Journey, for the upcoming FIFA 17. The new mode allows gamers to play as a young rising footballer named Alex Hunter.
The Journey mode will, as the name suggests, trace the journey of Hunter as he climbs the ladder of the football world to gain his spot in the English Premier League. This would involve both his performance on the pitch as well as his actions off the ground, thus giving a "true-to-life experience in the Premier League, EA said.
"It's a cinematic world informed and influenced by real players, personalities, locations, and events that take you places you've never been."
From the trailer itself, one can perceive that it will be an extensive experience based on the lives of football players at the highest level of the game, something every football fan in the world has dreamed of at least once in their lifetime.
The graphics and the worlds look immersive and elements hint at the inclusion of non-footballing events in the mode.
The story had consultants like Harry Kane, Premier League Golden Boot winner from Tottenham Hotspurs and Tom Watt, who was the ghost-writer of David Beckham's book My Side.
Apart from this mode, EA has again reworked the game mechanics which is something apparent from the trailer. And this time around, Lionel Messi is no longer the official face of the game. Instead, youngsters like Eden Hazard, James Rodriguez, Anthony Martial and Marco Reus feature on the cover.
FIFA 17 will be releasing on September 27. Here is the trailer:
