LYF Water 8, features VoLTE and an octa-core processor for Rs 10,999.
There's no dearth of mid-ranged smartphones in India. Further reaffirming this is the newly launched LYF Water 8, which features VoLTE and an octa-core processor for a price tag of Rs 10,999. While it still doesn't compete with the likes of the Lenovo Vibe K4 Note in terms of raw hardware, it has an advantage at hand with VoLTE on board.
But one can argue that VoLTE support is practically non-existent at the moment, with Reliance Jio currently being the only network that's keen on bringing this to the market. Reliance launched the LYF brand of smartphones to accompany Jio's networks when they become commercially available. So it helps to have a bunch of VoLTE equipped phones in the market when Jio makes its grand entry in the Indian telecom industry.
The highlight of the Water 8 is not just VoLTE, though. In order to strike a chord with the selfie loving public, the handset comes equipped with a front facing single LED flash. The rear camera also has an LED flash, but that's not nearly as exciting or rare as a front LED flash. The display, unfortunately, comes with a resolution of 1280x720, which makes the device seem underpowered, especially given the price tag.
The handset is available in White and Black models. As with the rest of the LYF branded smartphones, the Water 8 also comes with 24-months of extended warranty.
LYF Water 8 hardware specs include:
