DINEOUT INITIATES #FEEDASMILE PROGRAM TO MAKE INDIA A HUNGER-FREE COUNTRY
Dineout, the premier table reservation app, recently introduced a campaign called #FeedASmile that aims to fight hunger and create awareness to donate funds to provide meals to India's underprivileged children through India Food Banking Network (IFBN).
The cause is supported by Chef Kunal Kapur, who has a strong and simple philosophy that “No One Should Have To Wait For Food”. Through the #FeedASmile campaign, Dineout will donate INR 30 for every reservation to India Food Banking Network, every time a user books a table at a restaurant through the app.
IFBN has been working for a long time to fight issues like hunger and malnutrition in India, and according to their research;
· 194.6 million are undernourished
· 30.7% of children under 5 are underweight
· 58% of children stunted by 2 years of age
· 55th rank in Global Hunger Index 2014
· 1 in 4 children malnourished.
Talking about the reason to initiate such a campaign, Ankit Mehrotra, Co-Founder Dineout said “Dineout believes that a hungry, undernourished nation is not a strong nation. A country where children do not get the basic balanced diet in the day cannot be seen as progressive or future ready. The program was launched to drive a collaborative partnership between Dineout, IFBN and Chef Kunal Kapur so that it addresses and answers the challenges of hunger eradication in India, by supporting Food Banks in India.”
