Here’s how to get Airtel 10GB data at Rs 259 for new 4G smartphone
Airtel has announced a new data offer for all its customers purchasing a new 4G-enabled smartphone. Users who purchase a new 4G-enabled smartphone will be eligible to get 10 GB 4G/3G data on a recharge of Rs 259. Airtel says 1GB data will be instantly credited to the customer’s account and the additional 9GB data can be claimed via MyAirtel App.
The data will be valid for 28 days. Users can recharge a maximum of 3 times within 90 days to avail the offer. “We are proud to have pioneered 4G network for users in India. This invitational offer has been designed for our data savvy customers who can now experience high speed broadband on Airtel’s 4G network with their new devices,” Ajai Puri, Director – Market Operations, Bharti Airtel, said.
Airtel’s special offer was introduced in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh last week. The offer has now been now extended across India and all brands of 4G handsets. Airtel 4G is currently available in 18 circles across India. In non 4G circles, 3G data will be available to customers under the offer.
With the entry of Reliance Jio, the war between telecos is getting intense. Airtel, Idea, Vodafone, Aircel etc have all announced price-cuts on their 4G data packs to compete with Jio’s 4G data tariffs. However, Reliance Jio is offering free 4G data till December 31, 2016 as a part of its ‘Welcome Offer’. Post the ‘welcome offer’, customers will be charged as per data tariffs put out by the company.
Airtel announced the launch of its new 4G data pack that offers ‘free data for 90 days’ to its customers. The prepaid only pack is available at Rs 1,495 for existing users, and at first recharge of Rs 1,494 for new users. The Rs 1495 4G plan by Airtel breaks down to almost Rs 500 per month for 10 GB of data, which is exactly the same amount that the newly launch Reliance Jio 4G network promises – Rs 50 per GB.
