Xiaomi Mi 5c : Leaked Price, Specification and Design

Xiaomi Mi 5c is expected to be the cheapest phone in the 'Mi 5' series at 999 Yuan (approx Rs 9,900), Xiaomi Mi 5c will be powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core processor featuring 3GB RAM and 64GB of onboard storage

Xiaomi Mi 5c has a new image leak which clearly shows the front and the back design of the phone. It is priced at CNY 999 (approx Rs 9,890) according to a poster of the device that was shared by KJuma on his Weibo account. Considering that the phone carries a ‘c’ in its name meaning that it will be (possibly) the cheapest smartphone in the series, which also makes it half the price of the Mi 5 that was launched in India at Rs 24,999.

The image of the Mi 5c were spotted on my drivers, showing the phone with a fingerprint scanner on the front and a 2.5D glass on top of the display. Mi 5c features a metal frame with rounded edges with the camera module placed on the top left on the back, along with the Mi logo on the bottom.

Xiaomi Mi 5c will be powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core processor featuring 3GB RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. Another set of report claims Xiaomi Mi 5c will have its own Pinecone SoC. The phone will come with a 5.5-inch display (expected to be an FHD display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution) with narrow bezels on the side, and sports a 12MP primary camera along with an 8MP front shooter, according to the leaked photos shared on MyDrivers.

Mi 5c is expected to launch with Android 6.0 Marshmallow with MIUI 8 running on top. Xiaomi could release the smartphone at an event in December.

Xiaomi launched the Mi 5 phone in India in March 2016, a month after the launch of the phone in China – becoming the first country out of China to see the launch of the phone. However, the Mi 5s was launched in China in September at 1,999 Yuan (approx Rs 19,800), but did not find its way to India. The company also launched the Mi 5s Plus at a price of 2,299 Yuan (approx Rs 22,000).

Xiaomi’s recent offerings in China like Redmi Pro, Xiaomi Mi Note 2 and the concept phone Mi Mix are not likely to launch in the Indian market.
