HTC Ultra with Snapdragon 821 and a Second Display - If You Can't Beat 'Em, Copy Them
Taiwanese Smartphone maker(and once king of smartphones, before Samsung S2), have been down in the dumps for the last couple of years, since they were churning out, smartphone after smartphone trying to desperately stay in the High-End game.
All of us remember the fiasco that was the M7 and M8, and it was really all downhill slope from there. The M9 had horrible performance and overheating issues(no thanks to Snapdragon 810 inside), and, they even went so far as to put MTK chips in 300-400$ phones and not update the software.
Currently the HTC 10 was a good choice for a flagship, it had looks, style and Snapdragon 820, although it still costs almost as much as Samsung S7 and iPhone 7, but people are generally happy with the device(have two friends using it and it's quite good).
And after winning some of the trust back from the people, HTC have now decided to unveil their latest flagship, which shamelessly just slaps Samsung S7 and LG V10/20 into one device!

Now you have to admit that it looks good, and will probably be a nice phone as the specs are quite top notch:
However, reading between the specs you notice a few things.
1st - Big Display, Small Battery
The 5.7-inch QHD(2K) panel is only backed by a 3000mAh battery, which will surely last a day, but not more, there is Quick Charge 3.0 available, but the device is not the thinnest in size(8mm), so could have definitely packed at least 3500mAh in there.
2nd - No Headphone Jack
HTC is still quite well known with audiophiles for having the best sound chips and output through 3.5mm headphones, well guess what - IT'S GONE!
Since HTC saw Apple and LeEco have no issues with it - "hell, might as well copy them, be innovative!".
I personally use Bluetooth headphones for 2 years now, since I hate cables, but it's a shame since people who've bought 200-300$+ headphones can't use them without a USB-C adapter.
3rd - Straight Copy and Paste of LG V10/20's Second Display
The HTC Ultra is using absolutely the SAME display at the same place as the LG V10/20.Now, that's not a bad thing, but it's just lazy in my books. Could have at least tried something else with it, but NO, functions the same and placing is the same!

4th - Samsung S7, is that YOU? Oh, but there's no Edge.
HTC Ultra's design on the back is fairly similar to the S7 and S7 Edge, but they skipped on the bezel-less part, since it's too expensive to manufacture, but hey let's charge 700$ for it anyway - Right?
CONCLUSION:
So, with all those things said, I do believe HTC Ultra will be a very good phone, as HTC care about build quality, but at that price (700+USD/Euro) I don't think anyone besides DIE HARD fans might get it, not when Samsung S8, LG G6 and Huawei P10 are just around the corner(and will probably cost less and pack Snapdragon 835, and Huawei's Kirin 965).
