Ola Play now available on Ola’s Rental offering
Ola expects ‘Rental’ category to grow over 4x times with this launch
March 08, 2017, Bangalore: Ola’s hourly package service - ‘Ola Rentals’, gets more personal and contextual with the introduction of its latest connected car platform - Ola Play. Ola Play, launched in November 2016, has been instrumental in transforming the in-cab experience for thousands on the go. With its launch in Rentals, the company expects the demand for this category to grow by at least 4x times over the next quarter.
Since its launch early last year, the Ola Rentals category has grown to become one of the most preferred mobility options especially among Ola Corporate customers and specific use cases like airport pickups, sight-seeing, day long meetings etc. The Rentals category is now available in close to 100 cities, and has witnessed a sharp growth of over 200% in the last quarter. With users having the benefit to choose from 1 hour 15kms, to 8 hours 80 kms package, Ola Rentals forms a perfect use case for Ola Play as customers can resume music, videos and more from where they left last. Partners like Arre’, Apple Music, Sony LIV, AIB, TVF and more, will play a key role in building a high quality interactive experience for Rental users
Speaking on the development, Ankit Jain, Sr. Director and Head of Ola Play, said “The ridesharing world needs a radically new approach, and both Ola Play and Rentals, have set high benchmarks for future innovations in this space. The two together will provide a highly personalised, context aware ride experience, as customers move from one point to another and resume on Play right from where they left last, after each meeting or engagement. We see a great fit there!”
Ola Play was initially available exclusively to Ola’s premium subscription service - Ola Select, that witnessed a growth of over 300% before it became available for all Ola customers. Ola Rentals has been instrumental in addressing the unique needs of executives, senior citizens, tourists and individuals who’d like to have a vehicle at his disposal, waiting on them, as they move from one place to another.
