10.orG mobile Overview and Camera review
10.orG is the latest entrant in the budget dual cam segment. It comes with a very good build. No squeaking or rattling. The 2.5D curved glass gives it an elegant feel. Also the rounded corners makes it comfortable to hold. Performance wise its quite good with a good battery life. No major heating, even after playing Asphalt 8 for half an hour. Stereo speakers are a good addition. High end games played without any stutters. Touch is very responsive. FP unlock is pretty quick. Im using the 4GB/64GB model. No any bloatware apart from amazon and kindle. Display is sharp and bright enough for reading under direct sunlight. Good colors. The only two major cons I found is the audio quality via headphone jack. Lack of equalizer presents a flat audio also the headphone audio increment is not proper. It gets loud within few increments. The audio via loudspeaker need to get balanced, now its on the higher frequency side. The second con is about camera software. The sensors and the lens module are great but the processing need refinement. The output lacks details and at times the white balance is wrong and so the exposure. Be sure to change the photo quality to highest as it will be in standard quality by default. The front camera can take some good selfies. It comes with an LED flash but I feel it should be a bit more brighter.
Let me share some samples here and my thoughts
You can see the white balance issue in the above shots. You can see the warm and cool version of the same lighting photos. These are unedited photos(except for resize and watermark)
The above shot shows the exposure issue. Both taken under same lighting. I hope they will fix these two major bugs in next update.
The above picture is taken with HDR on and I feel its not upto the mark especially the exposure balance. Can see clipping. Also I could see purple fringing on few shots. Hope they fix it too.
The dual cam mode is more like Note 5 implementation. We can select the bokeh level in post. Both images with bokeh and without bokeh gets saved. This way we dont need to wait for the processing to finish. The edge detection is pretty good most of the times, it works in low light too. The good thing is that we get both the images, with and without blur so no need to worry about missed focus shot.
Low light Depth mode. It does come with noise though.
Here are few more samples from the camera
And now few macro shots clicked using Lens
One more thing that the camera app lacks is full function manual mode. Camera app needs more features like slow motion and time lapse video. Manual controls. 4K recording. I used Bacon camera app for 4K video test.
