IL&FS Financial Services concludes fifth edition of ‘I Run For Fun’
Mumbai, 12th November: IL&FS Financial Services Limited (IFIN) today concluded the fifth edition of ‘I Run For Fun’, the annual run organised by the company in BKC, Mumbai.
The fifth edition of I Run for Fun brought with it a new category of 10 Miles or 16 KM. All the running events have the distances of 5 KM, 10 KM and 21 KM. To bridge the gap between 10 KM and 21 KM, 10 Miles or 16 KM gives you a chance to test your endurance, and as a practice run before going for a half marathon. As an additional feature, Pacers were introduced as part of the run this year, helping runners in the 10 Miles and 10 KM categories finish their runs within stipulated times.
IFIN is associated with ADAPT (Able Disabled All People Together) as their charity partner, supporting the cause of social inclusion for the differently-abled.
Dnyaneshwar Morga (53.19 mins) won the men’s open category and Vandita Chawla (1.26 hrs) won the women’s open category10 Miles (16 KM)run at the fifth edition of ‘I Run For Fun’, clocking a time of 53.19 Minutes and 1 hour 26 minutes, respectively. For the 10 KM run, Shailesh Gagota was the winner in men’s open category and Kavita Bhoire was the winner in the women’s open category clocking a time of 33.08 mins and 45.09 mins respectively. Timing certificates were given to all finishers of the 10 Miles (16 KM) and the 10 KM runs, while medals were given to all finishers across the three categories.
Known as the BKC (Bandra Kurla Complex) Run, participants also ran in 5km Fun Run. All the registration proceeds went to ADAPT (Able Disabled People All Together), a cause supported by the run over the years. A small run was also organised for the children and staff from ADAPT, who were present to cheer the crowd and encourage the runners.
SEBI Chairman Ajay Tyagi flagged off the run that attracted working professionals from corporate houses and financial institutions across Mumbai and especially around BKC. Arijit Basu, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of SBI Life insurance was the guest of honour.

The atmosphere was electric, with warm-up session, dhol, cheerleaders, jugglers, post-run stretching session and a variety of other entertaining and fun activities along the route. IFIN I Run for Fun is popular among runners for its scenic route. Thousands of runners across various corporate participated in the run.
