Google Assistant now in Hindi
The importance graph of Virtual Assistant in a smartphone has always been upwards. All tech giants like Microsoft, Apple and Google, rolled out their own Virtual Assistants. Although Cortana could not survive the competition because of Microsoft's downfall, Apple's Siri and Google's own Assistant have always been in the competition. These manufacturers have something or other up their sleeve when it comes to offering interesting services.
The new feature Google set out is that the Google Assistant now comes in Hindi, the official language of India and also the third most spoken language in the world after Mandarin and English. As much as we are excited to let you know about this, we are equally disappointed. Let's first see how can you get this feature.
So, all you need to do is, update your Google assistant app from play store and you're good to go. As of now, this feature is supported in all devices running on Android OS version 6.0 Marshmallow or higher and iOS. Sooner or later, devices running on Android OS version 5.0 KitKat will also receive this update.

As revealed by Purvi Shah, the Tech manager of Assistant, this Hindi version of the Assistant can really be your dost. You can talk to it about your day to day activities like setting alarm, reminding where you left your keys, scheduling your cycling session and much more.
You can also have a basic conversation totally in Hindi for fun. As per the reports, the assistant can also detect a little English usage now and then in the middle of native Hindi and respond to it as required. As much fun and exciting it sounds, it shares the same amount of set back.
Just like every other language for The Google Assistant, this feature also requires you to download the Hindi language on your phone and set your entire device language to be Hindi. Yes, you cannot have your device language as English and use Hindi as your Assistant language. This has always been a problem in Google Assistant.
Unlike assistants of different platforms, Google Assistant urges you to set up your device language and assistant language, the same. We hope that one day Google drops this major setback and we can all happily use the Assistant in a specific regional language.
