Nokia 1 - The Nostalgia again

The Mobile World Congress 2018 [MWC] had an interesting line-up of tech gadgets, phones, tabs, laptops, VR headsets and much more. But there is one that has caught the attention of quite a share of cameras. Well, who else do you think can make this happen? Nokia again.

I remember last year when HMD Global announced the reappearance of the legendary Nokia 3310, the headlines it made was quite huge. To pump the adrenaline more up, Nokia has unveiled Nokia 1 which is highly inspired by Nokia 3310.

Everything about the device like the colours, size and also the white band on the front will get that curve on your face as soon as you look at it.

Like these external features are not enough, the device runs on Android Go. Yes, you get the simplest, liter version of Android with this retro-back device. Android GO is a new platform which works for devices with weaker hardware [under 1 GB RAM or so].

Android Go will have its own app suite, play protect and default machine learner inside to monitor spyware and malware. It also gets the Express written on its rear panel.

The hardware is on the weaker side though. It churns its performance from MediaTek MT6737M clocked at 1.1 GHz speed. This chipset is coupled with a 1 GB LPDDR3 RAM. An internal storage of 8 GB is available which can be expanded to up to 128 GB via SD card.

Coming to cameras, there is a fixed focus 5 MP rear shooter and 2 MP front lens too. LED flash is available for the rear camera.  Coming to connectivity, it supports 4G over VoLTE, Bluetooth radio, WiFi support too. There is a 2150 mAh battery to keep you going for half a day at least.

The device is expected to be priced at around 6000 INR or lesser. Yes, for an entry-level smartphone with such a software, the price tag is more than justified.

So, get ready to experience the nostalgia, the power and the sturdy design and feel of the true Nokia classic again.
