Nokia 8 Sirocco, A Worthy Upgrade?
The MWC 2018 has seen a lot of upcoming technologies, gadgets along with the comeback of retro hits. But one company in particular, announced a lot of upgraded versions for last year devices, Nokia. Nokia 8 Sirocco is one such upgrade that has caught a lot of attention at the event.
Last year HMD launched their high-end device Nokia 8 which had the best specs on its list 2017 had to offer, at an affordable price. The device made a cool new addition to the existing camera features called Bothie. This lets you take a snap from both rear and front cams simultaneously.
This year's Nokia 8 Sirocco boasts a 5.5 inch Quad HD OLED display. It has a 2560 x 1440 screen resolution. The display is an all 3D glass, 2K display. The device is all covered in Gorilla glass covered body. The company claims that the all Gorilla glass is modified at 95% vacuum. This means the surface finish is most perfect you can find out there in the market.
The frame holding the innards is made of stainless steel. Under the hood is again the last year's Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 which is a little disappointment. The device is packed with 6 GB RAM and provided with 128 GB internal storage.
Coming to cameras, Nokia's long relationship with Zeiss Optics still pays off. There is a read dual camera setup 12 + 13 MP for excellent snaps. There is a 5 MP front shooter that suffices for video calls, daylight selfies.
The device also has a fingerprint sensor, face unlock biometric. The device runs on Android OS V8.0, Oreo. Nokia also claims that the device gets Android One. This means that you get unlimited updates for next two years and all security patches for next 3 years plus unlimited storage on Google Photos. This also means you get the stock version of Android with no clutter and other bloatware.
The device is IP67 certified. This means accidental bucket drops, musical showers are all possible. The device also supports wireless charging through Qi wireless charging.There is also a power packed 3260 mAh battery to last all day long.
Although there is not much info about the price, we expect it to be around 45,000 - 50,000. If you are looking for a good budget phone with that legendary Nokia tag, get this right now.
