Sony Xperia XZ2 launched
The once infamous manufacturer that took the art of mobile making to creative levels, Sony hasn't been doing well for a long time now. In the MWC 2018, some of the new handsets have been announced housing the power pack Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. One of them is XZ2, the successor of last year's XZ.
The XZ2 boasts a 5.7 inches HD+ HDR display with a screen resolution of 2160 x 3480 pixels. The display is very vibrant and the colour reproduction is something you should experience. This time the conventional rectangular block shape form takes a little change on the rear end.
There is a 2.5D slightly curved glass on the back which, not only gives new look but also feels more comfortable in the hands. The device is all covered in Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The handset is IP 65/68 certified for dust and water resistance.
Although the bezels have been reduced to some extent on the sides, you can still see the top and bottom bezels holding the front camera and SONY insignia. This time the fingerprint sensor is positioned comfortably on the rear panel below the primary camera.
The performance monster, Octa-core Snapdragon 845 is coupled with 4 GB RAM and is clocked at a maximum speed of 2.45 GHz. Internal storage of 64 GB is available which can be expanded up to 256 GB via an SD card. For the handling of graphics, Adreno 540 GPU is provided.
Coming to cameras, there is a 19 MP rear camera featuring one of the best SONY EXMOR lens. This shooter is capable of shooting 4K HDR videos, 960 FPS Ultra Slow Motion [Ultra Slo Mo] at 1080 P resolution. The device runs on Android V8.0, Oreo and is packed with 3425 mAh battery.
The device has eliminated headphone jack and USB type C port. To think that a pioneer firm in audio like Sony has eliminated headphone jack and uses Aptx HD LDAC codes for audio and video playing is a little off-beat.
For charging, there is Quovo adaptive charging and the default battery care provides optimised battery performance. The device supports wireless charging through Quick charge 3. The dedicated camera shutter button is still present on the right side.
If you're into Sony products and are looking for a flagship killer, consider this. The team has tried a lot to offer unconventional technology in every sense. The expected price should be around 47,900 INR.
